Feel Good Golf to put more wheels on the road

Forget the traditional corporate golf day – the fifth annual Toyota Charity Golf Day for Wheels for Hope was not one that the participants will forget in a hurry.

Held on April 10 at the Joondalup Golf Resort, more than $87,000 was raised – funds to increase and maintain the Wheels for Hope fleet, which will provide WA families with disabilities the gift of mobility.

Families like Zoe’s in Caversham have already benefited from the support of Wheels for Hope. In 2013, 12 year old Zoe and her family were the recipients of a loan van – ensuring that Zoe can now travel in safety in her wheelchair to school and her various medical appointments

29 teams enjoyed a sunny day at Joondalup – with the competition fierce on both the course and in the post-dinner Auction. Bidders took home some amazing 'money can't buy' experiences, including a Golfers dream trip to Bali, a VIP table for 8 at the “Chefs Table” in the kitchen at Frasers Restaurant, and tickets in a Corporate Suite at Perth Arena to see Robbie Williams.

Pro Golfer Lyndsey Stephen was on course to give some players some much needed tips, and players not only battled each other but also the novelty holes, including the chance to win a new Toyota Corolla sedan in the hole in one.

The team from Fremantle Ports finally broke through to win their first title, closely followed by the team from Subaru, and the Obal Group team took out third place.

With the assistance of generous sponsors including major sponsors Toyota WA and Toyota Autoparts, AHG, Qube, Car Craft, MTA WA, Chamber of Automotive Industries, Allianz, Cash Converters, Subaru and West Cape Howe Wines, and the support of the businesses that provided teams for the day, the Wheels for Hope Golf Day was a great success.
